Welcome to MOJO in Motion

About Us

MOJO (Miscarriage of Justice Operations) is a public interest initiative at UCLA Law dedicated to advancing civil and human rights and confronting systemic injustice. As the campus affiliate of the Ben Free Project, founded by and for the wrongfully incarcerated, we unite legal training, lived experience, and community power to expose wrongful convictions, confront extreme sentencing, pursue freedom, and challenge the systems that allow injustice to persist.

Our work extends beyond wrongful convictions. MOJO builds coalitions across criminal justice, immigration, education, and civil rights advocacy, recognizing that these systems are interconnected and often reinforce one another. Through student-led initiatives, we work to create meaningful change inside and

beyond the carceral system.

Our Vision

A justice system grounded in fairness, accountability, and human dignity for all. We believe the law is interconnected and that collaboration is essential to meaningful reform.

Collective effort is what transforms recognition of

injustice into lasting change.
